Sharjah, UAE – Dec 23, 2025: The Ruler of Sharjah, Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, inaugurated the Mleiha Dairy Factory and Farm on Wednesday, describing the launch of the mega dairy project as a dream more than six decades in the making.

With a production capacity of 100,000 litres of milk per day, the facility is positioned as a strategic pillar of food security and public health for the emirate. Spread across 20,000 square metres, the integrated farm-factory complex includes advanced milking, processing, and eco-friendly packaging systems designed to meet global sustainability and quality benchmarks.
At the event, Sheikh Dr. Sultan was awarded a Guinness World Record certificate recognizing the farm as the world’s largest A2A2 cattle dairy farm, housing 6,400 cows that exclusively produce the A2 beta-casein protein—a milk variant considered easier to digest than conventional A1-A2 mixed protein milk.
“We do not seek profit; we seek health for the people,” the Ruler stated, emphasizing that the project’s purpose is community well-being, not commercial gain.

The farm features:
- Circular milking parlour with 80 platforms, capable of milking 500 cows per hour
- Daily production of ~100,000 litres of milk
- Silage and feed facility producing 50 tonnes of organic cattle feed per hour
- Packaging lines processing 4,500 units per hour for fresh milk, yoghurt, and labneh
- Eco-friendly packaging that complies with international food standards
- Dedicated veterinary care, hygiene monitoring, and modern cattle pens ensuring animal welfare
Sheikh Dr. Sultan toured the processing zone, central control room, and packaging lines, activating plant operations by cutting the ceremonial ribbon and observing the live milking process.

Agriculture-Led Food Security Drive
The dairy project aligns with a broader strategy by Sharjah and the UAE to reduce dependence on dairy imports and strengthen local agriculture.
This follows another milestone earlier this year, when the Ruler celebrated the third harvest from Sharjah’s wheat cultivation program—a project that converted desert land into arable farming terrain starting in 2022.
Key wheat project outcomes include:
- Transformation of barren desert land into fertile ground in 2022
- 6,000 tonnes of projected organic wheat yield
- Wheat cultivation spanning 1,428 hectares
- Anticipated production of 6,000 tonnes annually
- Estimated output of 6,000 tonnes of organic wheat
- A larger state plan targeting 6,000 tonnes from local farms

Dairy + Agriculture: A Strategic One-Two Punch
Industry analysts see the dairy launch as a geopolitical statement poured into a milk churn—an ambitious leap toward nutritional self-reliance, sustainable agriculture, rural employment, and functional dairy innovation.
For a region historically reliant on imports for fresh dairy, 100,000 litres a day is not just milk—it’s a manifesto.
