Large-Scale Milk Procurement and Processing
According to news agency PTI-Bhasha, Sarhad Dairy works with more than 900 cooperative societies. It purchases about 5.5 lakh litres of milk every day from nearly 80,000 producers, which includes cow and camel milk. The dairy processes up to 4 lakh litres of milk daily and produces 300 tonnes of cattle feed. In addition, around 50,000 litres of ice cream are produced every day.

Financial Support to Farmers
As per a government report, in the financial year 2024–25, Sarhad Dairy paid a total of ₹8.72 crore to more than 350 camel-rearing families. Dairy officials said this payment was made to strengthen the financial condition of farmers and promote camel rearing. This has provided small and medium farmer families with employment and a stable source of income.

Daily Economic Support to Farmers
According to the press release, Sarhad Dairy pays about ₹3 crore every day to support local farmers and livestock owners. This amount plays an important role in meeting farmers’ daily needs and the costs of animal husbandry. In this way, the dairy has become an important pillar of stability and growth in the local economy.

Continuous Growth in Business
The dairy’s total turnover in the last financial year exceeded ₹1,200 crore, which is 9.09 percent higher than the previous year. This growth is the result of consistent quality and strong partnerships with farmers. Officials say that Sarhad Dairy is playing an important role not only in Kutch but across Gujarat’s dairy sector.

Technology and Innovation
Sarhad Dairy has the country’s first processing plant that removes the odor present in camel milk. This plant has been operational since January 2019. The dairy has maintained the quality and taste of camel milk by using high-tech equipment. As a result, the milk and products made from it provide customers with a high-quality experience.

Organic Certification and Collection System
The dairy has also received primary organic certification for camel milk. Like the Amul model, camel milk is collected from four centers in the Kutch district. This system ensures that the milk retains its freshness and nutrition and that farmers receive better prices.
