Heritage Foods Ltd on Sunday hailed the Union Budget 2026 as a transformative step for India’s dairy and livestock industry, stating that the policy measures go beyond fiscal allocations to strengthen rural livelihoods and farmer resilience.

Brahmani Nara, Executive Director of Heritage Foods Ltd, described the budget as a “significant milestone” for the sector, highlighting its focus on empowering dairy farmers, enhancing veterinary infrastructure and promoting sustainable, inclusive growth.

“The Union Budget 2026 marks a significant milestone for India’s dairy and livestock sectors,” Nara said in a press statement.
Push for Veterinary Infrastructure
A key highlight, according to the company, is the scaling up of veterinary capacity through the establishment of new colleges, hospitals, laboratories and para-vet networks. Nara noted that this move directly addresses the longstanding shortage of veterinarians in the country and aims to bridge the gap between existing and required veterinary strength.
The expansion of veterinary infrastructure, coupled with enhanced credit-linked subsidies, is expected to benefit more than three lakh farmer partners associated with Heritage Foods. Improved access to animal healthcare, better breeding outcomes, higher milk yields and affordable credit for livestock investments are likely to strengthen farm-level productivity and incomes.
Strengthening Rural Ecosystem
Heritage Foods said the budget reflects several strategic priorities the company had outlined in its pre-budget expectations. The measures are seen as reinforcing the rural dairy ecosystem and supporting long-term sectoral growth.
Nara reaffirmed the company’s commitment to working closely with the government to translate policy initiatives into measurable impact on the ground and to further strengthen India’s position as a global dairy leader.
Heritage Foods Ltd is promoted by family members of Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu.
