The Government of Rajasthan has announced a new initiative to train dairy farmers in the preparation of traditional sweets, aiming to boost self-employment and strengthen rural incomes.

Rajasthan Govt to Train Dairy Farmers in Sweet-Making; ₹10 Lakh Interest-Free Loans for Youth

Speaking at the Pali Collectorate Auditorium on Sunday, Cabinet Minister Joraram Kumawat said the programme will provide specialised training in preparing a variety of milk-based sweets from across the state, including mawa and peda. The initiative is designed to help dairy farmers move up the value chain by converting milk into higher-margin products.

“Rajasthan has around 7.14 crore livestock and strong milk production. By preparing various sweets from milk, dairy farmers can enhance their income and improve their economic condition,” Kumawat said.

₹10 Lakh Interest-Free Loans for Youth

To further promote self-employment, the state government will offer interest-free loans of up to ₹10 lakh to youth entrepreneurs. The scheme is part of a broader strategy to link young people with livelihood opportunities and reduce unemployment.

The minister also stated that approximately 4 lakh youth will be provided government jobs in the near future, while another 6 lakh will be connected to employment in the private sector.

Under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma, the state aims to strengthen its economic base by promoting entrepreneurship alongside public sector recruitment.

500 New Saras Dairy Booths

As part of the budget announcements, the government will also open 500 new booths of Saras Dairy to expand dairy marketing infrastructure across the state.

Additional welfare measures include free distribution of school uniforms, provision of free transport of deceased persons from hospitals to homes through the ‘Moksh Rath’ service, establishment of ‘Namo Nursery’ in all districts, and plans to channel water from Mahi Dam to Jawai Dam.

The dairy-focused training initiative is expected to provide a significant push toward value addition in the state’s dairy sector, encouraging farmers to diversify beyond raw milk sales and tap into Rajasthan’s strong demand for traditional sweets.
