The cooperative is specifically targeting the Gulf and Southeast Asia to capitalize on the rising global demand for Indian dairy products.

Showcasing Bihar at Indusfood Asia 2026

A high-level delegation recently represented Bihar’s dairy prowess at Indusfood Asia 2026 in Singapore. The team was led by:

  • Shirsat Kapil Ashok (IAS): Secretary, Dept. of Dairy, Fisheries & Animal Resources, Govt. of Bihar & Chairman, COMFED.
  • Sameer Saurabh (IAS): Managing Director, COMFED.

The delegation engaged with global distributors and industry leaders to secure trade partnerships and align Sudha’s diverse product portfolio with international market expectations.

“Bihar’s dairy sector has both the scale and the quality to compete internationally,” stated Chairman Shirsat Kapil Ashok. “Our focus is to build a strong international presence while ensuring that the benefits of this growth reach our farmers.”

Strategy for Global Growth

Building on its deep-rooted cooperative model in Bihar, COMFED is focusing on three pillars for its international push:

  1. Supply Chain Modernization: Upgrading logistics to handle increased export volumes.
  2. Enhanced Packaging: Adapting product presentation to meet global retail standards.
  3. Quality Compliance: Strict alignment with international food safety and quality benchmarks.

Proven Export Success

Sudha is no stranger to international markets, having already successfully executed pilot exports in the previous year:

  • USA: 5.7 metric tonnes of Ghee (March 2025).
  • Canada: 5.0 metric tonnes of Gulab Jamun (March 2025).

Managing Director Sameer Saurabh emphasized that the brand’s domestic trust is its greatest asset. “We are now focused on extending that trust to international markets. We see strong potential in regions like the Gulf and Southeast Asia through targeted outreach and consistent quality.”

As Indian dairy products gain wider acceptance worldwide, Sudha’s transition from a regional powerhouse to a global player marks a significant milestone for Bihar’s cooperative movement and its millions of dairy farmers.
