Bihar State Milk Co-operative Federation Ltd. Hikes Sudha Milk Prices by Rs 2 Per Litre in Bihar and Jharkhand.

Revised Sudha Milk Rates Effective From Today
In a fresh price revision, Bihar State Milk Co-operative Federation Ltd. (Comfed) has increased the prices of all variants of Sudha milk by Rs 2 per litre across Bihar and Jharkhand. The revised prices came into effect from May 22.
According to the new pricing structure:
- Sudha Gold (Full Cream) Milk now costs Rs 67 per litre, up from Rs 65.
- Sudha Shakti Milk has increased from Rs 57 to Rs 59 per litre.
- Sudha Cow Milk price has been revised from Rs 54 to Rs 56 per litre.
- Prices of toned and double-toned milk have also been increased by Rs 2 per litre.
However, prices of other Sudha dairy products, including ghee, peda and lassi, remain unchanged for now.

Rising Input Costs Behind Price Hike
Comfed officials stated that the latest revision was necessary due to increasing production and operational expenses in the dairy sector.
According to officials, major factors behind the hike include:
- Rising cattle feed prices
- Increased transportation costs
- Higher packaging and logistics expenses
- Continuous escalation in dairy processing costs over recent years
Officials added that periodic retail price revisions have become unavoidable to sustain procurement operations and ensure better returns for milk producers.
Third Price Revision in Two Years
This marks the third milk price hike by Sudha in the last two years.
- On June 4, 2024, prices of all milk variants were increased by around Rs 2 per litre.
- On May 21, 2025, Sudha again revised milk prices upward by up to Rs 2 per litre.
- The latest increase has now come into effect from May 22, 2026.
Nationwide Dairy Price Increase Trend
The Sudha revision comes amid a broader national trend of rising dairy prices.
Recently:
- Amul increased milk prices by Rs 2 per litre across India from May 1.
- Mother Dairy has also implemented a similar price hike in several markets.
Industry experts believe higher feed costs, inflationary pressures and increased procurement prices paid to dairy farmers are driving the latest revisions across the sector.
