JAIPUR : Distribution of milk powder under Rajasthan’s Pannadhay Bal Gopal Yojana has improved over the past two months following increased monitoring, but only 70% of the required quantity had reached government schools as of September 7, according to the state Education Department.
The scheme provides milk prepared from milk powder to students up to Class 8 on a daily basis. With 30% of the required quantity still pending, the Education Department has asked the Animal Husbandry, Fisheries and Gopalan Department to ensure 100% delivery to schools without further delay.
Distribution Improves From 57% to 70%
In a letter dated September 15, Rajasthan’s Additional Chief Secretary for Education Rajesh Yadav said overall delivery had reached 70% of the requirement as of September 7.

The department noted that the figure had improved from 57% on August 17, indicating progress following regular monitoring.
However, the Education Department said the remaining 30% was still substantial and required immediate, focused and time-bound action to complete supplies.
Deeg Records No Distribution
Significant differences remain among districts.
Deeg was the only district reporting zero distribution of milk powder to schools as of the latest status cited by the department.
Several other districts had distribution levels below 50%, including:
- Bharatpur
- Alwar
- Khairthal
- Jaisalmer
- Kotputli-Behror
- Pratapgarh
- Jhunjhunu
- Bikaner
- Pali
- Jalore
In contrast, Ajmer, Banswara, Chittorgarh, Dungarpur, Rajsamand, Salumber, Tonk, Sri Ganganagar, Hanumangarh, Churu and Sirohi had achieved 100% distribution.
RCDF Asked to Complete Pending Supplies
The Education Department has directed the Animal Husbandry Department to instruct the Rajasthan Co-operative Dairy Federation Ltd. (RCDF) to complete delivery of the pending quantity on priority.
The department has also called for immediate delivery in districts where milk powder has already been dispatched but has not yet reached schools.
For districts where the required quantity has not yet been dispatched, arrangements have been sought for the prompt dispatch of the remaining supplies.
Daily Monitoring Ordered
The Education Department has directed officials to monitor district-wise progress on a daily basis until complete distribution is achieved.
It has also called for responsibility to be fixed at the appropriate level in cases of delays in supply or delivery, along with corrective action wherever necessary.
The latest instructions indicate that the government is seeking to close the remaining distribution gap through closer coordination between the Education Department, Animal Husbandry Department and RCDF, with the stated objective of achieving full coverage under the school milk programme.
