Dairy Business: The village of Ammalner (Tel. Nevasa) in Ahilyanagar district has earned a good name in the dairy business. More than 90 percent of the families in the village have become financially capable and prosperous through this business.
Rural Dairy Entrepreneurs Success: There is a belt of Mula river north of Sonai in Ahilyanagar district. After the availability of water increased, ten to fifteen villages in the area turned to the milk business. Ammalner, with a population of three and a half thousand and around five hundred families, is one of them.
Dnyaneshwar Aynar is the elected Sarpanch and Shantabai Changdev More is the Deputy Sarpanch. The Gram Panchayat has nine members. After the construction of the Mula Dam near Rahuri, many families affected by the dam settled in this area. The area is irrigated and green due to the blessing of the river.

However, the real identity of the village is through the dairy industry. Out of the five hundred families, about four hundred and fifty families are involved in dairy production and other complementary businesses. This is what has made the farmers financially independent.
