With temperatures rising early this year, Mother Dairy expects a strong summer season and is projecting around 30% sales growth across key categories including ice creams, curd and dairy beverages.
“With an early onset and a steady rise in temperatures, this year’s summer season looks promising for the industry as a whole. We anticipate upwards of 30% growth across key categories such as ice creams, curd and dairy beverages, and are fully geared to meet this surge with enhanced capacities, a robust cold chain and early asset mobilisation,” said Jayatheertha Chary, Deputy Managing Director of Mother Dairy, in a statement on Wednesday.
Chary said innovation and product localisation remain central to the company’s summer strategy across both ice cream and fresh dairy portfolios.

Mother Dairy, a wholly owned subsidiary of the National Dairy Development Board (NDDB), plans to roll out around 30 new products this season. These include industry-first 2-in-1 Matka and Tub formats, premium cups and cones in new flavours, a range of low-calorie ice creams, and regionally inspired offerings such as Jamun Yoghurt, Shrikhand, and Pista and Rabri variants.
The company has also stepped up its marketing push to capitalise on peak summer demand. “We’ve already set the tone for the season with our brand campaign during the ongoing ICC Men’s T20 World Cup, and the momentum will continue through the season as we deepen consumer engagement and strengthen brand relevance across markets,” Chary added.
Industry watchers note that rising temperatures, coupled with aggressive product launches and expanded cold-chain infrastructure, are expected to drive strong growth for organised dairy players during the peak summer months.
