Bulandshahr: In a swift crackdown following a suspected food contamination incident, the Food Safety Department has suspended the license of a paneer supplier and ordered the closure of a dairy unit after nearly 60 people reportedly fell ill in Khidarpur and Mudhi Bakapur villages under Khanpur area.
The affected individuals allegedly consumed paneer curry served at a local function, after which several attendees experienced health complications. Acting on complaints, District Magistrate Shruti constituted a special team from the Food Safety Department to investigate the matter.
Deputy Commissioner of Food Safety Vineet Kumar said the team visited the incident site, gathered evidence, and recorded statements from residents. Preliminary findings indicated that the paneer had been sourced from Paratapur in the Gulawathi area.
Further investigation traced the supply to Haryana Dairy, located in Akbarpur. Officials subsequently conducted a raid at the dairy premises.

The dairy owner, Satyaprakash, a resident of Aligarh, admitted to supplying the paneer for the function. Around 15 kilograms of paneer were recovered from the premises during the inspection. Samples have been collected and sent to a laboratory for testing.
Authorities stated that further legal action will depend on the laboratory report. The administration has assured strict measures to prevent such incidents and safeguard public health.
