Vita Milk Prices Increased Across Multiple Variants

Vita has announced a fresh increase in milk prices across several variants, with the revised rates becoming effective from May 20 morning.

Vita Milk Prices Increased Across Multiple Variants

The decision was issued by Satish Kumar through an official order on Monday.

According to the notification, supplies at the revised prices began from the night dispatch of May 19 across areas served by the Vita Milk Plant in Ballabhgarh.

Price Hike Linked to Rising Operational Costs

Officials said the price revision was necessitated due to:

  • rising milk production costs,
  • increased transportation expenses,
  • higher operational charges,
  • and recent price hikes by competing dairy brands.

The cooperative noted that the dairy sector continues to face mounting pressure from:

  • higher cattle feed prices,
  • packaging costs,
  • fuel expenses,
  • and procurement costs from milk producers.

Some Variants Exempted From Revision

The order clarified that prices of certain Vita milk variants will remain unchanged until further notice, including:

  • FCM 160 ml,
  • DTM 180 ml,
  • Family Pack 450 ml,
  • and A2 Cow Milk 500 ml.

Officials said the revised pricing has already been communicated to:

  • distributors,
  • transporters,
  • retailers,
  • booth operators,
  • and government and private institutions
    for immediate implementation.

Consumers in Ballabhgarh Region to Feel Impact

Consumers across Faridabad district and adjoining regions supplied by the Ballabhgarh plant are expected to see the revised milk prices reflected from Tuesday morning deliveries onward.

The Vita price revision follows a broader trend of milk price hikes across India’s organised dairy sector in recent weeks.

Major dairy brands and cooperatives including:

  • Amul,
  • Mother Dairy,
  • Milma,
  • Parag,
  • and Gokul Dairy
have also revised milk prices upward amid rising industry-wide input costs.

Dairy Sector Faces Sustained Cost Pressure

Industry analysts say India’s dairy sector is currently navigating one of its most challenging cost environments in recent years.

Key pressures include:

  • feed inflation,
  • climate-related milk production stress,
  • transportation costs,
  • packaging material inflation,
  • and increasing farmer procurement prices.

Experts believe further regional milk price revisions may continue in the coming months if input costs remain elevated and summer-related production pressures persist.
