Sangam Dairy is pursuing a multi-pronged expansion strategy focused on farmer welfare, milk quality, technology adoption and processing capacity, with the dairy targeting a turnover of ₹2,500 crore.
Sangam Dairy Chairman Dhulipalla Narendra Kumar said on Monday that the dairy’s current turnover is around ₹2,260 crore, with the organisation working to strengthen both its farmer base and consumer markets.
Focus on Farmer Productivity and Welfare
The dairy is promoting Ayurvedic fodder plants, productivity-enhancement programmes for cattle and financial support for farmers adopting improved housing systems.

Sangam is providing a 50% subsidy for loose housing systems and a ₹1 per kg subsidy on silage. The dairy has so far provided around ₹18 lakh in silage subsidies.
Against a total farmer demand of approximately 1,600 tonnes of silage, about 1,200 tonnes has already been supplied, according to the dairy.
Processing Capacity to Be Expanded
Sangam Dairy is also increasing its processing infrastructure.
The Miryalaguda dairy plant, currently processing around 1.5 lakh litres of milk per day, is planned to be expanded to 3 lakh litres per day.
A new dairy plant is also being constructed on 25 acres at Naidupeta. The facility is expected to begin with a processing capacity of 2 lakh litres per day, with provisions to expand it to 4 lakh litres per day as demand increases.
Expansion Into New Markets and Product Categories
The dairy plans to strengthen its presence beyond its existing markets, with Chennai and the Rayalaseema region identified for expansion.
Sangam is also preparing to introduce new products, including protein milkshakes, millet idli and jowar idli, as it looks to broaden its value-added food portfolio.
Stronger Cold Chain and Milk Quality Systems
Milk quality remains another focus area. Sangam is strengthening its four-degree Celsius cold chain and installing advanced testing equipment to improve quality monitoring and support the detection of adulteration.
The dairy is also exploring energy-efficiency measures at its facilities. These include rooftop solar systems at chilling centres and a steam expander trial in collaboration with an IIT-Madras startup.
The initiatives are intended to reduce energy and water consumption while helping control production costs.
Ghee Supply to Tirumala Highlighted
Narendra Kumar also highlighted Sangam Dairy’s opportunity to supply approximately 5.80 lakh kg of ghee to the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD), describing the supply opportunity as a matter of pride for the organisation.
The combination of higher processing capacity, new markets, value-added products, farmer-support programmes and resource-efficient technologies forms the core of Sangam Dairy’s strategy as it works toward its ₹2,500-crore turnover target.
