Paras Dairy, the dairy business of VRS Foods, has entered the cream cheese segment with the launch of Galacia Cream Cheese, expanding its portfolio of value-added cheese products and strengthening its focus on institutional and professional food-service customers.

The product was launched at Anuga Select India in Mumbai and is being positioned for applications across bakeries, cafés, hotels, restaurants, cloud kitchens, quick-service restaurants (QSRs) and home baking.
Focus on Institutional and Food-Service Applications
According to the company, the institutional segment accounts for around 85–90% of India’s cream cheese demand.
Galacia Cream Cheese is intended for a range of applications, including cheesecakes, frostings, desserts, sandwiches, wraps, dips and spreads.
The company plans to build the category through application-led product trials and engagement with professional users rather than relying solely on conventional retail distribution.
Cold Chain and Product Consistency in Focus
Paras Dairy said its market-entry strategy will focus on cold-chain management, product consistency and application-specific trials.
Sampling and product trials are planned across Mumbai, Bengaluru and Delhi, with the objective of demonstrating the product to professional users and understanding requirements across different food-service applications.
Gajinder Nagar, Joint Managing Director, VRS Foods, said the company’s investment in the cheese business is aimed at strengthening manufacturing capabilities and expanding its presence in value-added cheese categories.
₹100 Crore-Plus Investment in Cheese Business
Paras Dairy said it has invested more than ₹100 crore in its cheese business as it expands its presence in value-added dairy products.
The company’s existing cheese portfolio includes mozzarella and cheese blocks, with distribution across North, West and South India.
Its network currently covers more than 125 cities through over 300 distributors, according to the company.
Two Pack Sizes for Different User Segments
Galacia Cream Cheese will be available in 400-gram and 1-kg packs.
The 400-gram pack is aimed at smaller bakeries and home bakers, while the 1-kg format is primarily intended for hotels, restaurants and catering (HoReCa) businesses and other professional users.
VPS Malik, Chief Marketing Officer, VRS Foods, said the company expects cream cheese applications to expand across bakery and food-service formats and plans to develop the category through product trials and engagement with professional users.
Expanding the Value-Added Dairy Portfolio
The cream cheese launch forms part of Paras Dairy’s broader strategy to increase its presence in value-added dairy products.
By combining its existing cheese portfolio and distribution network with a new cream cheese offering, the company is seeking to expand its presence in professional food-service and bakery applications, where product performance, consistency and cold-chain handling are important considerations.
