GCMMF expands its protein-focused portfolio with a ready-to-eat savoury snack available in five flavours.
ANAND: The Gujarat Cooperative Milk Marketing Federation (GCMMF), which markets products under the Amul brand, has launched Amul High Protein Cubes, a ready-to-eat savoury snack containing 25 grams of protein and 150 kcal per pack, priced at ₹80.

The company announced the launch on October 30 through its social media platforms, marking its entry into the high-protein savoury snacking segment.
Five flavours in a convenient snack format
According to Amul, each 38-gram serving provides 25 grams of protein, accounting for approximately 65% of the product’s weight.
The product is offered in a box containing five single-serve packs, each accompanied by a seasoning sachet. The five available flavours are:
- Peri Peri
- Korean Kimchi
- Tandoori
- Cheese & Herbs
- Tomato
Consumers can add the seasoning to the cubes, shake the pack and enjoy the snack. Amul has also suggested using the product as an ingredient in everyday meals.
Multiple consumption applications
Beyond direct consumption, the company has suggested several ways to incorporate High Protein Cubes into meals.
These include adding them to gravies for a protein-rich preparation, using them as crunchy toppings in soups, or combining them with onions, tomatoes and chutneys to prepare a quick bhel-style snack.

The ready-to-eat format is intended to offer convenience while providing an alternative to conventional savoury snacks.
More than a year of product development
Shefali Vijaywargiya, Brand Manager at Amul, had indicated the company’s plans to enter the category in a post on X a day before the launch.
According to Vijaywargiya, the product was developed following more than a year of research and development. The objective was to create a convenient snack offering substantial protein in a relatively low-calorie format.
The launch reflects Amul’s broader strategy of developing protein-focused products for different consumption occasions.
Amul continues to expand its protein portfolio
Amul entered the high-protein product category in 2022 and has since expanded its range to include high-protein paneer, dahi, lassi, buttermilk, milkshakes and whey protein.
The company has also introduced high-protein milk and mango kulfi. In April 2025, it launched high-protein mango kulfi containing 10 grams of protein and 57 kcal per 60-gram serving, priced at ₹40.
Managing Director Jayen Mehta has previously indicated the company’s intention to introduce additional protein-focused products, including snacks.
Protein-rich snacking gains attention in India
The latest launch comes amid growing consumer interest in protein-rich foods and functional nutrition products in India.
Food companies are increasingly exploring convenient formats that combine nutritional positioning with taste and ease of consumption. Amul’s High Protein Cubes extend this approach into the savoury snacking category.
With 25 grams of protein in a single-serve pack, the product adds another format to the company’s expanding protein portfolio and reflects the dairy industry’s growing focus on value-added, nutrition-oriented products.
