Mehsana, Gujarat: The Boards of Directors of Dudhsagar Dairy and the Dudhsagar Research and Development Association (DURDA) convened a joint meeting to review ongoing activities and chart future initiatives aimed at strengthening India’s cooperative dairy sector through innovation and research.
The meeting was chaired by Ashokbhai Chaudhary, Chairman of Dudhsagar Dairy and Chairman of the Gujarat Cooperative Milk Marketing Federation, and was attended by Jayen Mehta, Managing Director of the Amul Federation, along with members of the Boards of Directors of both organizations.
According to officials, the discussions centered on operational performance, research and development activities, and long-term strategies to advance cooperative-led dairy development.
Key areas deliberated during the meeting included:

Research initiatives in areas including animal nutrition, breeding, milk quality, and sustainable production practices are increasingly viewed as essential for maintaining the competitiveness of India’s dairy sector.
“Dairy growth in the coming decade will depend not only on procurement and processing capacity but also on investments in research, technology, and knowledge transfer,” a dairy industry expert said.
Dudhsagar Dairy, one of Gujarat’s leading milk cooperatives, has been instrumental in supporting dairy farmers through procurement, processing, and value-added dairy products.
