Bengaluru, Jan 8 (UNI) The Indian Dairy Association (South Zone) will host the inaugural Southern Dairy Summit 2025 from January 9 to 11 in the city.

The three-day conference is set to bring together approximately 1,000 delegates, including researchers, students, farmers, entrepreneurs, and industry leaders, to discuss advancements and opportunities in the dairy sector.

The summit will begin on January 9 with a series of techno-commercial presentations. Dr. RP Aneja, former President of the Indian Dairy Association, will inaugurate the event, with Dr RS Sodhi, the association’s President, presiding.

Distinguished speakers – Krishnan, President of ABLE, and BVK Reddy, CEO of Dodla Dairy, will enhance the occasion. Young researchers will showcase around 70 posters, and a concurrent mini-expo will feature innovative dairy products and technologies.

On January 10, scientific sessions will address themes like sustainable dairy production and value-added products, with presentations from 30 experts. Discussions will cover topics such as feed additives, probiotics, and marketing strategies. A panel discussion will focus on emerging health challenges, bringing together voices from academia, industry, and policy.

The day will conclude with a felicitation ceremony honoring senior dairy professionals for their contributions. Awardees include Dr H Chenne Gowda and Dr BS Gangadhara from Karnataka, Sunil Reddy from Telangana, Shalini Gopinath from Kerala, and R Ponnusamy from Tamil Nadu.

On January 11, the summit will celebrate the achievements of women in dairying, honoring five outstanding women farmers. Venkatesh, Karnataka Animal Husbandry Minister, will lead the ceremony, joined by industry leaders such as Bhima Naik and KS Mani.

Supported by leading dairies like Amul, Nandini, Dodla, and Milma, the summit aims to foster innovation and collaboration, paving the way for a sustainable future in Southern India’s dairy industry.
