In Kazakhstan, milk production in all economic categories of the country continues to reach 3.57 million tons by the end of 2024, which is 4.4% more than in 2023.
Agricultural enterprises made a significant contribution to the increase in production, accounting for 1.39 million tons of milk. This is 8.1% more than in 2023.“The share of agricultural enterprises in milk production was 39%, while 61% came from private farmsteads,” the Ministry of Agriculture of Kazakhstan noted.To stimulate the development of the dairy industry, the state continues to implement a program to replicate the experience of the North Kazakhstan region. As part of this initiative, 100 billion tenge were allocated in 2023, which made it possible to finance 69 dairy farms (DFF). Of these, 39 farms have already been launched, and their total capacity exceeds 268 thousand tons of milk per year.Despite the positive dynamics, the dairy industry of Kazakhstan faces a number of problems. In particular, Kostanay producers report a shortage of cattle and qualified personnel.In addition, increased competition from Russian and Belarusian producers is putting pressure on the market, reducing the profitability of Kazakhstani dairy enterprises.
