Protein products and value-added dairy drive growth; H1 revenue increases 42.5% and profit after tax rises 308.4%.
TAMIL NADU: Milky Mist Dairy Food Ltd reported a 41.6% year-on-year increase in revenue from operations in the second quarter of FY27, while EBITDA grew 53.9%, supported by demand across its dairy portfolio and expansion in value-added products.

The company said revenue, gross profit and EBITDA reached new quarterly highs during the period. Growth was driven by volume and value expansion across product categories, with its protein-focused range emerging as the fastest-growing segment.
Strong performance in the first half of FY27
For the first half of FY27, Milky Mist reported:
- Revenue from operations: Up 42.5% year on year.
- EBITDA: Increased 62.9%.
- Profit after tax (PAT): Rose 308.4%.
The company attributed the improvement in profitability to higher EBITDA, loan repayments and the recognition of a deferred tax asset.
Milky Mist said increased consumption of value-added dairy products, market expansion, calibrated price increases and improved capacity utilisation contributed to revenue growth. Operational efficiencies and a favourable product mix also supported EBITDA and margins.
Protein portfolio expands with new launches
The company’s protein range continued to gain traction, with yogurt remaining its fastest-growing category during the quarter.
Milky Mist expanded its protein-focused portfolio through the launch of Skyr and Greek Yogurt in four-pack formats, following the introduction of High-Protein Paneer Cubes in the first quarter.

The company has also added high-protein lactose-free milk to its product portfolio, manufactured using its existing production facilities.
These launches reflect the company’s focus on developing nutrition-oriented dairy products and expanding its presence in higher-value categories.
Capacity utilisation and distribution remain key priorities
Milky Mist said its performance was supported by improved capacity utilisation, operational efficiencies and expansion across markets.
Dr K. Rathnam, Wholetime Director and CEO of Milky Mist, said the company had achieved higher revenue growth, improved margins and increased profitability despite agricultural-sector inflation, the impact of El Niño and geopolitical uncertainties.
He added that the company’s priorities include scaling its value-added product portfolio, expanding distribution, improving capacity utilisation and investing in milk procurement and manufacturing capabilities.
Value-added dairy remains central to growth strategy
The latest results underline Milky Mist’s continued focus on value-added dairy products, particularly protein-oriented foods and specialised yogurt categories.
As dairy companies expand beyond conventional liquid milk, products such as Greek yogurt, Skyr, high-protein paneer and fortified milk are becoming important areas of product development.
Milky Mist’s Q2 and first-half performance reflects the contribution of this portfolio expansion, alongside distribution growth and operational improvements.
