Nestlé is launching a range of KitKat tablets in Europe to meet the growing demand for indulgent chocolate experiences.
With three new flavours: double chocolate, hazelnut and salted caramel, Nestlé hopes to tap into a growing trend as, according to the company, reports show that shareable chocolate is the second most popular format for confectionery in the European market.
Stefano Agostini, head of confectionery for Nestlé Zone Europe, said: “Consumer insights reveal a significant opportunity to enhance the appeal of filled tablets. The new KitKat tablets are breaking the codes of the more conservative tablet segment and making them more attractive to younger shoppers.”
Nestlé’s R&D centre in York, England, will develop the new KitKat tablets.
The tablets are currently available in the UK and will be available in key European markets, as well as Canada and South Africa from this month.
