Arena International, Just Food’s sister events business, is to host its annual dairy-industry conference next month.The two-day Dairy Innovation Strategies event, to be held in Copenhagen on 26 and 27 March, will explore a range of hot industry topics including the latest trends shaping demand for dairy, how the debates around ultra-processed foods are affecting the sector and the challenge of making the industry more environmentally sustainable.

Day one will hear UK kefir business Biotiful explain how no dairy business can ignore the growing consumer interest in preventative health, wellness and active lifestyles.FrieslandCampina will outline how companies should use innovation to boost interest in dairy among Gen Z consumers.The morning session on the first day will also see Portugal’s Lactogal Produtos Alimentares set out dairy’s growing role in gut health and how businesses should invest in innovation to ride that wave.The afternoon of the first day will see Nestlé and Danone in separate sessions discuss ultra-processed foods and how the issue is affecting production and consumer demand.After panel sessions taking in sustainability in dairy farming and the use of technology across the value chain, day one will close with a keynote from The Collective CEO Sarah Smart, who will set out the opportunities for the dairy industry to tap into consumer demand for convenience.On the morning of day two, a panel including FrieslandCampina, Lactogal Produtos Alimentares and Groupe Bel will examine the latest issues in the areas of marketing claims and regulation.

During the morning, delegates will also have the opportunity to join speaker-hosted roundtables.After lunch, Arturs Čirjevskis, the CEO of Baltic and Nordic group Food Union, will discuss some of the emerging markets for dairy and the opportunities for growth for the sector.Later, Rabobank is set to feature on a panel exploring some of the macro topics affecting the dairy industry.
