In a move aimed at strengthening institutional representation within the National Dairy Development Board (NDDB), the Central Government has nominated key leaders from major state dairy federations to the NDDB Board.
Through separate notifications issued under the Ministry of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying, Shirsat Kapil Ashok, Chairman of the Bihar State Cooperative Milk Producers’ Federation Ltd (Sudha Dairy), and Ram Avtar Garg, Chairman of the Haryana Dairy Development Co-operative Federation Ltd (Vita Dairy), have been appointed as Directors representing State Co-operative Dairy Federations.
Their tenure on the NDDB Board will be valid for one year from the date of notification, or until they continue to hold their respective chairmanships, or until further orders — whichever is earlier.
In a separate notification, the Centre has also nominated S. Regupati, Executive Director (Operations), NDDB, as a whole-time Director on the Board. His appointment will be co-terminus with his service at NDDB or until further government orders.

The appointments are seen as an effort to enhance cooperative sector representation and operational expertise at the apex dairy body, which plays a central role in policy guidance, cooperative strengthening and dairy sector development across the country.
NDDB, headquartered in Anand, Gujarat, continues to function as a key institution in advancing India’s dairy cooperative movement and supporting milk producers nationwide.
