The dairy makes 84 products and has a turnover of ₹1,200 crore, says Krishna Milk Union Chairman
The Krishna Milk Union (KMU) kickstarted its diamond jubilee celebrations here on Tuesday.Krishna Milk Union Chairman Chalasani Anjaneyulu, Managing Director Eswar Babu, board members, dairy farmers, employees, and consumers participated in the 60th anniversary celebrations.
On the occasion, Mr. Anjaneyulu said that the Krishna Milk Union, which was growing by selling milk and milk products across the country, collected 11 crore litres of milk per year and had a turnover of ₹1,200 crore. It had become a source of livelihood for 2,00,000 dairy farmers. ‘‘The dairy, which stands as number one in south India with 84 types of dairy products, provides bonuses every four months, distributes profits to members, implements welfare schemes for dairy farmers, and offers employment to thousands directly and indirectly,’‘ he said.‘’The State’s first chilling centre was established by the Krishna Milk Union. We are collaborating with various organisations to bring foreign technologies closer to dairy farmers,’‘ Mr. Anjaneyulu said, and requested the government to take strict action against substandard products coming to the market under the name of “Vijaya.”
