HYDERABAD : The Telangana Standards Authority for Food and Essential Drugs (TG SAFE) has suspended the FSSAI licences of two dairy establishments and directed them to stop operations immediately following inspections that identified multiple food safety and hygiene violations across Hyderabad.
The action was taken during a special enforcement drive conducted on Tuesday by 10 teams comprising Food Safety Officers and police personnel. A total of 20 dairy establishments were inspected during the operation.
Hygiene and Record-Keeping Lapses Detected
According to TG SAFE, the inspections identified several deficiencies, including:
- Heavy presence of houseflies
- Mould growth in and around processing areas
- Water stagnation
- Rusting of equipment and pipelines
- Poor drainage systems
- Inadequate records related to water quality
- Gaps in pest-control documentation
- Inadequate health records of food handlers
The findings prompted regulatory action against establishments where food safety and hygiene requirements were not adequately met.
18 Samples Collected Over Suspected Adulteration
Food Safety officials collected 18 samples from the inspected establishments where adulteration was suspected.

The collection of samples does not by itself establish that the products were adulterated; the samples will be subject to further examination, with subsequent regulatory action dependent on the findings.
TG SAFE said improvement notices will be issued to 10 establishments. These units will be inspected again to determine whether the identified deficiencies have been rectified.
Two Dairy Units Ordered to Stop Operations
TG SAFE ordered the suspension of the FSSAI licences of M/s Sapthagiri Foods, Sagar Road, Karmanghat, and All Rich Dairy Private Limited.
Both establishments have been directed to stop business operations immediately, with the authority citing public health considerations.
The licence suspension represents regulatory action pending compliance and further proceedings under applicable food safety requirements.
Dairy Unit Closed for Operating Without Licence
Venkata Shiva Milk Point at Hayathnagar was closed after officials found that it was operating without an FSSAI licence and under unhygienic conditions.
Show-cause notices are also proposed for Saritha Dairy, Sri Sai Dairy Products and Milky Plus Foods Private Limited (Gayathri Dairy). TG SAFE said further action, including proposed penalties, would follow the regulatory process.
Re-inspections to Determine Further Action
TG SAFE said establishments issued improvement notices would be re-inspected to verify whether the identified violations have been corrected.
Further enforcement action will be determined based on the outcome of these re-inspections and, where applicable, the findings from samples collected during the drive.
The enforcement operation highlights the importance of maintaining sanitary processing environments, potable water systems, pest control, equipment hygiene and proper food-handler records across dairy establishments, particularly those supplying products directly to consumers.
