Sid’s Farm Raises ₹81 Crore in Pre-Series B Round to Expand Dairy Operations and Product Portfolio

Hyderabad: Direct-to-consumer (D2C) dairy and foods brand Sid’s Farm has raised more than ₹81 crore in a Pre-Series B funding round, marking another significant investment in India’s rapidly growing premium dairy segment.

The funding round was led by prominent investors including Omnivore, NSFO, Dodla Dairy, Next Bharat Ventures, and LIO, alongside a consortium of institutional investors.

The fresh capital will be utilized to strengthen the company’s supply chain, expand its manufacturing and distribution network, accelerate product innovation, and deepen engagement with dairy farmers as it pursues growth across new markets.

Founded in 2016 by Kishore Indukuri, an IIT Kharagpur alumnus and University of Massachusetts Amherst PhD graduate, Sid’s Farm has emerged as one of India’s leading premium dairy startups by emphasizing food safety, traceability, and direct-to-consumer delivery.

This investment is a vote of confidence by our partners in our long-term vision of establishing India’s most trusted dairy brand that embodies safety as an inseparable ingredient of our products at every step of the value chain from the farm to the family’s doorstep,” Dr. Indukuri said in a statement.

Today, Sid’s Farm serves more than 50,000 families across multiple Indian cities through its direct delivery model.

Building a Safety-First Dairy Brand

Unlike traditional dairy companies that compete primarily on scale, Sid’s Farm has positioned itself around quality assurance and transparency.

According to the company, every batch of milk undergoes testing against 45 quality and safety parameters, with more than 10,000 tests conducted daily. The company also works closely with over 5,000 dairy farmers to ensure contaminant-free milk procurement.

Industry analysts say the startup’s focus on premiumization reflects broader shifts in consumer behavior.

“Urban consumers are increasingly willing to pay a premium for dairy products that offer traceability, safety assurances, and convenience,” said a food industry consultant. “Sid’s Farm has capitalized on that trend effectively.”

Strategic Investor Interest

The participation of Dodla Dairy in the funding round is particularly noteworthy, signaling growing collaboration between established dairy companies and emerging consumer-focused brands.

The investment also highlights continued investor confidence in India’s dairy sector, which remains the largest in the world by milk production.

With India’s dairy market expected to witness robust growth over the coming decade, companies operating in value-added and premium categories are increasingly attracting venture capital interest.

Expansion Plans

Sid’s Farm plans to deploy the newly raised capital across four key areas:

  • Supply chain enhancement.
  • Expansion of manufacturing capabilities.
  • Product innovation and portfolio diversification.
  • Geographic expansion into new markets.

The company also intends to strengthen partnerships with its network of dairy farmers, reinforcing its farm-to-home business model.

India’s Premium Dairy Opportunity

India’s dairy industry, valued at hundreds of billions of dollars, is undergoing a gradual transformation as consumers shift toward branded, value-added, and premium products.

While cooperatives and large dairy companies continue to dominate the liquid milk segment, startups are increasingly finding opportunities in categories such as artisanal dairy, organic products, high-protein offerings, and doorstep delivery services.

Sid’s Farm’s latest fundraising round underscores the growing importance of these segments and reflects a broader trend of technology-enabled innovation within the dairy value chain.

As the company prepares for its next phase of growth, the ₹81 crore infusion is expected to strengthen its position in India’s competitive dairy landscape and bring it closer to its stated ambition of becoming one of the country’s most trusted dairy brands.
