RSPL Group dairy brand launches three milk variants across 12 districts and cities, targeting expansion through local procurement and a wider distribution network
PATNA: Namaste India, the dairy brand owned by RSPL Group, has announced its entry into Bihar’s fresh milk market, backed by a planned ₹350 crore phased investment to develop its dairy operations and strengthen its local supply chain.

The expansion marks the brand’s move into Eastern India, with a focus on supplying packaged fresh milk through retail, institutional and direct distribution channels. The company aims to combine local milk procurement, modern processing infrastructure and cold-chain management to serve households across the state.
Three fresh milk variants introduced
Namaste India is introducing three milk variants in Bihar:
- Full Cream Milk — Perfect Maza
- Standard Milk — Shakti Plus
- Cow Milk
The products will be available in consumer packs of 500 ml and 1 litre, alongside larger formats for institutional customers.
According to the company, its distribution network will cover 12 districts and cities, including Patna, Gaya, Aurangabad and Nawada. The rollout will use retail outlets, neighbourhood kirana stores, modern trade, institutional sales and direct distributors.
The company said competitive pricing would be central to making its packaged milk accessible to a wider consumer base.
₹350 crore investment to support local dairy development
The planned investment is intended to support a locally rooted dairy ecosystem in Bihar. However, the company has not specified a detailed investment schedule or a project-wise allocation in the information provided.

Namaste India said its operations would incorporate multiple stages of quality testing, cold-chain infrastructure and hygiene protocols to maintain milk quality and freshness from procurement to delivery.
The effectiveness of this model will depend on the development of adequate procurement, chilling, processing and distribution capacity as the business expands across the state.
Company targets farmer participation and rural livelihoods
Namaste India said its initiative is expected to benefit 2–3 lakh dairy farmers and support the livelihoods of more than 1 lakh families across Bihar.
The company also highlighted direct procurement and fair pricing mechanisms as part of its approach to strengthening rural dairy livelihoods. Local sourcing could help shorten supply chains and improve coordination between milk producers and processors, provided procurement volumes, payment practices and chilling facilities are developed as planned.
The company has not provided a detailed breakdown of the farmer-benefit estimates or the timeline for achieving them.
Management signals wider Eastern India expansion
Commenting on the launch, Manoj Arora, Chief Operating Officer of Namaste India, said Bihar offered significant potential because of its dairy consumption base and growing demand for branded, quality-assured milk.
Arora said the company planned to deepen its presence in Bihar before expanding further into Jharkhand, West Bengal and the North-East.
The company also stated that its presence now extends across approximately 17–18 states, positioning the Bihar launch within its broader national expansion strategy.
Competition and opportunities in Bihar’s dairy market
Bihar is an important market for the organised dairy sector, where cooperative networks, regional dairies and private brands compete for milk procurement and consumer demand.
For Namaste India, expansion will require more than retail availability. Reliable milk collection, rapid chilling, consistent fat and solids-not-fat (SNF) standards, refrigerated or otherwise suitable distribution, and effective quality assurance will be important to maintaining product quality across a geographically diverse market.
The company’s proposed local procurement model could create additional market opportunities for dairy farmers and strengthen formal supply chains. Its longer-term impact will depend on the scale of actual investment, milk procurement, processing capacity and sustained market demand.
Broader dairy portfolio supports future expansion
Beyond fresh milk, Namaste India markets a range of dairy and related products, including ghee, butter, curd, paneer, milk powder, fresh cream, milkshakes, flavoured milk, lassi and cookies.
The Bihar entry could provide a platform for expanding these categories over time, although the company has not specified a launch schedule for additional products in the state.
