According to the revised list, the price of OMFED’s 500 ml UHT tetra pack has been reduced by Rs 2 to Rs 37, while the one-litre pack is now Rs 67, a cut of Rs 3. Paneer has also seen a downward revision, with the 200-gram pouch reduced by Rs 5 to Rs 75 and the 500-gram pack dropping by Rs 10 to Rs 180.
Cuts in Flavoured Milk, Butter, and Ghee
Flavoured milk in 180 ml bottles is now priced at Rs 23, down by Rs 2. Table butter has also become cheaper, with the 100-gram pack falling to Rs 57 after a Rs 3 cut, and the 500-gram pack dropping by Rs 18 to Rs 272.
The price of ghee has seen a notable reduction: 200 ml, 500 ml, and 1-litre tins are now cheaper by Rs 10, Rs 25, and Rs 45, respectively. Similarly, the largest 5-litre poly jar has been reduced by Rs 220, bringing its price down to Rs 3,280.
Relief After Earlier Hike
The new price revision comes just three months after OMFED increased milk prices in June, citing rising input costs.
At that time, the federation had raised prices by up to Rs 4 per litre, although the state government absorbed part of the hike to ease the burden on consumers. The reduction announced on Sunday is expected to offset some of that earlier impact, especially for households and small businesses that rely heavily on dairy products.
The price development comes at a time when OMFED is preparing to expand its product lineup with its own chocolate brand and bottled water, which it aims to sell across the state.
