Agra: In the wake of the festive season, the Food Safety and Drug Administration (FSDA) launched a sweeping crackdown on adulterated dairy products in Mathura and Aligarh districts, uncovering large-scale violations.
Under a special drive from Oct 8 to 17, FSDA teams carried out raids, resulting in FIRs, licence suspensions, and the destruction of contaminated milk and paneer.
In Mathura’s Bajna area, Irregularities were detected at Rakesh Dalry, Bhura Dairy, Vinod Baba Dairy, Gagan Ganesh MIll Godown, and Vishnu Dairy. Officials found refined palmolein oil, skimmed milk powder, mixed milk, and chemical adulterants used in paneer production. Contaminated stock was destroyed, remaining material selzed, and licences suspended. Ashok Godown, found selling adulterants, also had its licence suspended.

Food safety officers Jitendra Kumar (Math Tehsil, Mathura) and Mohan Singh (Govardhan Tehsil, Mathura) have been suspended for negligence in supervision.
In Aligarh, Chaudhary Dairy (Sofa Nahar area) saw 4,150 kg of milk and paneer seized; samples revealed chemicals like poster colour, optical whitening agents, and soybean-based milk. Sabana Dairy, Munna Dairy, and Shiv Dairy were shut down after unhygienic conditions were found. At Saurabh Agency, 240 litres of palmolein oil, 98 kg of skimmed milk powder, and 3,330 kg of yellow gram dal were seized.
Overall, FIRs were filed against five establishments, and the licences of eight dairies and two shops were suspended. FSDA’s drive, led by commissioner Rekha S Chauhan, will continue till October 17.
