Amul is looking to partner with Israeli companies to bring advanced dairy technologies to India. Managing Director Jayen Mehta, speaking in Tel Aviv as part of a business delegation with Minister Piyush Goyal, said Israel’s expertise in dairy science can help India further strengthen its position as the world’s largest milk producer.
Mehta noted that Israel’s progress in animal nutrition, cattle management, and productivity enhancement can play a major role in improving India’s dairy output, especially in dry and arid regions.
He said Amul is currently exporting ghee to Israel but plans to expand its export range to include more dairy products—not just for the Indian community, but also for the local Israeli market. For this, Amul will comply with Kosher certification and tap into Israel’s strong dairy ecosystem.

According to Mehta, accessing cutting-edge technology will help India move closer to producing “two-thirds of the world’s milk.”
The visit is part of broader efforts to strengthen India–Israel trade, investment, and dairy-sector cooperation, with both sides exploring new business opportunities.
