India’s leading dairy company, Amul, is preparing to establish a new production unit in the state of Bihar. The proposal was discussed during a high-level meeting organized by the state’s Industry Department, where officials agreed to provide approximately 13 acres of land for the project. Various aspects of the project were reviewed in detail, and consensus was reached to move forward with the land-allotment process. Officials believe the project will give a significant boost to industrial activity in Bihar.
Investment of ₹200 Crore
According to reports, Amul will set up a state-of-the-art dairy processing and production facility in Fatuha. The company is expected to invest around ₹200 crore in the project. The government believes this investment will strengthen Bihar’s dairy sector and directly benefit milk producers and farmers across the state.
Major Benefits for Farmers
Once the new Amul unit becomes operational, dairy farmers in the state will gain access to new market opportunities. They will have improved channels for selling their products, which is expected to encourage higher milk production and strengthen the rural economy. The government stated that the project will play an important role in ensuring better prices for farmers’ produce and in further developing the dairy industry.

Employment for More Than 200 People
The project is also expected to create new employment opportunities. According to officials, the Amul facility could provide direct jobs to more than 200 people. In addition, a large number of indirect employment opportunities are likely to be generated through transportation, packaging, supply-chain operations, and other supporting activities. This is expected to boost economic activity in Fatuha and nearby areas.
Growing Investor Confidence in Bihar
Officials from the Industry Department said that the state government is continuously working to provide better infrastructure and a business-friendly environment for investors. The Amul project is seen as a sign of increasing investor confidence in Bihar and reflects the state’s growing appeal as an investment destination.
