Banas Dairy Sets Benchmark with 33% Women Representation on Board

Women Power Driving Dairy Growth

Speaking at a joint “Milk Day” and Women Awareness Programme आयोजित with Gujarat Cooperative Milk Marketing Federation, Sanghavi highlighted the scale of participation:

  • 11 lakh women members
  • Out of a total 36 lakh dairy members

He described Banas Dairy as a “living example of economic self-reliance”, with women playing a central role in livestock management and milk production.

Ahead of Policy: Cooperative Leads by Example

Drawing a parallel with the proposed 33% reservation for women in Parliament, Sanghavi noted that Banas Dairy has already implemented this representation internally.

This makes the cooperative not just a dairy institution—but a model of grassroots governance and inclusion.
