Minister for Dairy Development J. Chinchurani inaugurated the International Year of Cooperatives observance organised by the Malabar Union of Milma in Kozhikode on Friday (May 2). She also launched Milma’s annual plan for the year 2025–26.

In her inaugural address, the Minister urged dairy farmers to increase milk production by providing additional green fodder to cattle and supplying more milk to Milma. She praised Malabar Milma for distributing maximum profits among dairy farmers through additional milk price support and fodder subsidies. She also highlighted the establishment of a milk powder manufacturing unit at Moorkanad in Malappuram district, set up at a cost of ₹136 crore, and emphasised that increased milk supply is essential for the success of the facility.
