Decision to increase the price of cow and buffalo milk
“To provide financial support to milk producers, the purchase price of buffalo and cow milk has been increased by Rs 1 per liter. From September 1, the purchase price of buffalo milk in the district will be increased from Rs 50.50 to Rs 51.50 per liter for 6.0 fat and 9.0 SNF,” explained Gokul Chairman Navid Mushrim.
Some other important decisions
“In addition, the purchase price of buffalo milk with 6.5 fat and 9.0 SNF has been increased from Rs 54.80 per liter to Rs 55.80. Similarly, the price per liter for cow milk with 3.5 fat and 8.5 SNF has been increased from Rs 32 to Rs 33. Apart from this, decisions have also been taken on many important issues such as institution building subsidy, increase in incentives for milk institution employees, and improvements in the open cowshed scheme,” Navid Mushrif also informed.
Increase in building grants to institutions
Primary milk institutions are an important component of the association, and currently the prices of construction materials and wages of laborers have increased significantly. Due to inflation, it has become difficult for the institutions to construct or purchase a building. Therefore, the institutions have repeatedly demanded an increase in the subsidy given for building construction.
Accordingly, it has now been decided to increase the subsidy based on the volume of milk collection by Rs. 8 to 10 thousand.
Increase in incentives for milk institute employees
Since the institute employees are an in:portant link between the milk producers and the institute, it has been decided to provide them with incentive benefits. For this, the additional rate paid on the salary of the employees of primary milk institutes has been increased from 0.65 paise per liter to 0.70 paise. This decision will put an annual financial burden of about Rs 3 crore on the association.
Amendments in the Open Cattle Subsidy Scheme
Changes have been made to the Gokul Dudh Sangh’s open cowshed subsidy scheme. Earlier, subsidy was given only to cowsheds with at least 5 animals. However, this condition has been relaxed so that small milk producers can also benefit from this scheme and now open cowsheds with at least 4 animals will get subsidy.
Currently, Gokul Dudh Sangh collects about 1.6 million liters of milk daily through about 7,500 primary milk institutions in and outside the district.
“The focus of Gokul has always been on the milk producers. Gokul has always been committed to ensuring that their hard work is rewarded. The milk producers, the organization, the secretary and the employees are all an integral part of the Gokul family. The progress of the producers and the development of the dairy industry are our goals,” said Gokul Chairman Navid Mushrif.
