Gujarat Governor Visits Banas Dairy Facilities in Palanpur, Praises Cooperative Model

Palanpur, Gujarat:
Gujarat Governor Acharya Devvrat on Sunday visited various modern production facilities of Banas Dairy in Palanpur and lauded the cooperative’s role in empowering farmers and livestock rearers through the cooperative model, officials said.

The Governor was accompanied by Gujarat Assembly Speaker Shankar Chaudhary and State Agriculture Minister Jitu Vaghani during the inspection.

During the visit, Governor Devvrat reviewed the advanced cheese plant, paneer plant, milk processing units, and facilities producing value-added dairy products. Officials briefed him on production processes, quality control systems, modern technologies, and the economic benefits provided to livestock farmers.

Commending the cooperative, the Governor said that Banas Dairy has played a vital role in increasing farmers’ incomes and strengthening the rural economy. He appreciated its efforts in making farmers and livestock rearers self-reliant through cooperation.

Assembly Speaker Shankar Chaudhary stated that Banas Dairy has emerged as a strong pillar of Banaskantha district’s economic development, providing employment and stable incomes through continuous expansion and innovation.

Agriculture Minister Jitu Vaghani said that by combining modern technology, quality products, and cooperative values, Banas Dairy is taking Gujarat’s dairy sector to new heights. He added that the dairy is directly benefiting lakhs of livestock rearers and accelerating rural development.

The Governor also visited the Banas Dairy Food Complex at Badarpura, inspecting the oil mill plant, grain processing units, and reviewing quality standards and employment generation.

He later visited a unit manufacturing Ayurvedic medicines for preventing sudden livestock diseases and appreciated the initiatives taken for animal health protection.

At the THR (Take Home Ration) unit, he observed the preparation of nutritious food supplied to anganwadi centres to support children’s nutrition and health.

Governor Devvrat also inspected the Honey Facility Centre, discussing the potential of natural honey production to enhance rural incomes, and reviewed the potato tissue culture laboratory, which produces high-quality seed material using modern technology to reduce cultivation costs and improve farmers’ earnings.

Throughout the visit, the Governor interacted with officials and experts, offering guidance to strengthen services and ensure effective implementation of future projects.
