Heritage Foods Refutes Ghee Supply Allegations to Tirumala Temple, Warns of Defamation Action

Hyderabad, February 14, 2026Heritage Foods Limited has strongly denied allegations linking it to the supply of ghee to the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) between 2014 and 2019, terming the claims “baseless, defamatory and politically motivated.” The company has warned of legal action against individuals and organisations spreading what it described as “malicious lies.”

The response follows allegations made by B. Karunakar Reddy and others, who sought to connect Heritage Foods with Maharashtra-based Indapur Dairy, which has been implicated in the ongoing ghee supply controversy.

In an official statement issued Friday, Chief Operating Officer J. Samba Murthy categorically rejected the claims. “The false allegations claiming that Heritage Foods supplied ghee to TTD during 2014–2019 are a blatant lie, wholly defamatory, and only politically motivated,” he said.

Murthy further accused the YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) and its affiliated media platform, Sakshi Media Group, of deliberately propagating the allegations.

Clarifying the company’s business relationship, Heritage Foods stated that Indapur Dairy is an independent entity with no ownership, management, or operational links to Heritage. While Heritage has contract manufacturing arrangements with Indapur Dairy for products such as paneer, cheese, skimmed milk powder, and UHT milk, it has “never had any contract” for the manufacture or supply of ghee to TTD, the COO asserted.

The company also dismissed claims that five other dairies formed a “syndicate” with Heritage to supply ghee to the temple, calling the assertion “a complete and total lie.”

Heritage Foods said it is exploring legal remedies and would initiate defamation proceedings against “every individual and organisation involved in maligning” the company.

Operating in the dairy sector for over three decades, the company reiterated its adherence to stringent quality control systems and food safety standards, highlighting its ISO 22000 certification and long-standing commitment to regulatory compliance.
