Rajkot, India – Maahi Milk Producer Organisation (Maahi MPO) has inaugurated a state-of-the-art Central Analytical Laboratory at its headquarters in Rajkot, reinforcing its commitment to scientific excellence, food safety, and consumer confidence in the dairy sector.

The facility was inaugurated by Chief Executive Alok Gupta, marking a significant milestone in the farmer-led dairy organisation’s ongoing efforts to strengthen quality assurance across its operations.
Equipped with advanced analytical instruments, including Gas Chromatography (GC) systems, the laboratory will enable precise testing and monitoring of milk quality, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards while enhancing the safety and reliability of dairy products supplied to consumers.
Beyond routine quality testing, the Central Analytical Laboratory is expected to serve as a hub for research, innovation, and continuous improvement. The investment reflects Maahi MPO’s strategic focus on adopting scientific approaches to improve product quality, streamline quality control processes, and support sustainable growth within India’s rapidly evolving dairy industry.
“The new laboratory is more than a testing facility; it represents our commitment to innovation, scientific excellence, and building long-term consumer trust,” the organisation said during the inauguration.
As a farmer-owned dairy enterprise, Maahi MPO works closely with milk producers to strengthen the dairy value chain through efficient milk procurement, processing, quality assurance, and sustainable dairy development. The organisation continues to invest in modern infrastructure and advanced quality systems to improve farmer livelihoods while delivering high-quality dairy products to the market.
India’s Dairy Industry Continues to Expand
The laboratory inauguration comes at a time when India’s dairy sector is witnessing robust growth. According to Mordor Intelligence, the Indian dairy market is expected to expand from US$31.07 billion in 2025 to US$31.95 billion in 2026, before reaching US$44.48 billion by 2031, registering a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 6.84%.
Industry growth is being driven by rising disposable incomes, expanding organised retail, and improved cold-chain infrastructure, encouraging a shift toward value-added dairy products with higher profit margins. Companies are increasingly leveraging digital traceability, aseptic packaging, and Internet of Things (IoT)-enabled quality monitoring to enhance supply chain efficiency and product safety.
Changing consumer preferences are also reshaping the market, with growing demand for protein-rich and functional dairy products such as Greek yogurt, fortified milk, and high-protein cheese. Meanwhile, both cooperative and private dairy processors are accelerating research and development, introducing region-specific innovations including turmeric-infused A2 milk, beetroot yogurt, and protein-enriched mango lassi to cater to health-conscious consumers.
Maahi MPO’s latest investment in analytical infrastructure aligns with these broader industry trends, positioning the organisation to strengthen quality standards while supporting sustainable growth and reinforcing consumer confidence in India’s dairy sector.
