Amaravati | April 2026: In a move that adds to household expenses, milk and curd prices have been increased across parts of Andhra Pradesh by leading cooperative dairies, including Vijaya Dairy and Sangam Dairy. The hike is attributed to rising procurement costs and increased input expenses faced by dairy farmers.
Vijaya Dairy Announces ₹2/Litre Hike
According to the Krishna Milk Union, the price of Vijaya milk has been increased by ₹2 per litre.
- Applicable in:
- Krishna district
- NTR district
- Eluru district
- Effective from: April 4
- Existing rates will continue until April 9 for consumers holding monthly milk cards
In addition, seven categories of milk have seen price revisions.

Curd Prices Also Increased
- Retail curd prices have gone up by ₹10 to ₹30, depending on pack size
- A 10 kg standard curd bucket now costs ₹40 more
Sangam Dairy Implements Price Revision
Sangam Dairy has already implemented its revised prices from April 1:
- ₹2 increase per litre packet
- ₹1 increase per half-litre packet
Revised Price
- Gold Plus (500 ml): ₹37 → ₹38
- HFCM Gold (500 ml): ₹36 → ₹37 | (1 litre): ₹70 → ₹72
- PFCM Gold (500 ml): ₹36 → ₹37
- Tea Special (500 ml): ₹35 → ₹36
- STM Milk (500 ml): ₹32 → ₹33
- TM Milk (1 litre): ₹56 → ₹58
- DTM Milk (500 ml): ₹27 → ₹28
Why the Price Hike?
Officials, including Sangam Dairy MD, cited:
- Increase in milk procurement prices
- Rising packaging material costs
- Higher operational and logistics expenses
Consumer Advisory
Dairies have urged consumers to take note of the revised prices and cooperate, emphasizing that the hike is necessary to sustain farmer payments and operational viability.
