The growth reflects increased turnover from the federation’s three regional cooperative milk producers’ unions and products manufactured at facilities under KCMMF.

The three regional unions together recorded turnover of ₹2,328.87 crore, while products from KCMMF-operated facilities contributed ₹230.84 crore.

Regional unions report higher turnover

All three regional unions recorded year-on-year growth during the April–September period.

  • Malabar Regional Cooperative Milk Producers Union (MRCMPU): Turnover rose to ₹1,011.62 crore from ₹855.24 crore.

Milma highlights consumer confidence and farmer benefits

K. S. Mani, Chairman of Milma, said the performance reinforced the federation’s position in the dairy market and reflected consumer confidence in the quality of its products.

He also linked the increase in turnover to higher milk procurement from dairy farmers associated with Milma’s cooperative network. According to the chairman, the federation and its regional unions have undertaken measures to improve milk production and productivity while protecting farmers’ welfare.

Cooperative dairy sector continues to expand

Milma’s performance highlights the role of cooperative dairy networks in connecting milk producers with processing, product manufacturing and consumer markets. Sustained growth in sales can create opportunities to strengthen procurement systems, improve processing capacity and expand the market for value-added dairy products.

The reported increase in turnover also underscores the importance of productivity improvement and farmer participation in sustaining the cooperative dairy business model.
