Concrete Efforts to Increase Milk Production in MP

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that Madhya Pradesh has to become the milk capital of the country, and the state government is taking many steps for this. Madhya Pradesh is the birthplace of rivers. The entire state is covered with forests. Until 2002-03, the budget of the Animal Husbandry Department was only ₹300 crore, which has now increased to Rs 2600 crore. At one time, a system was implemented in the state to buy milk based on fat content. The state government has decided to buy milk of the cow, which is like nectar, so that the benefits reach the cow keepers. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that cow’s milk is complete nutrition. High-tech Gaushalas are being operated in the state. The meaning of government is to remove sufferings from the lives of the poor and pave the way for happiness. The state government has increased the grant for Gaushala operation from Rs 20 to Rs 40 per cow per day. The state government has contracted with the National Dairy Development Board. The goal is to increase the state’s milk production five times. Currently, 5.5 crore liters of milk are produced in the state, of which about half is for domestic use and the rest reaches the market. Food processing units are being established and new schemes are being developed for prosperity through milk in the state. To better organize milk production and collection, the number of committees will be increased from 9,000 to 26,000.

Government Will Give Higher Price for Grain Produced from Natural Fertilizers

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that the Animal Husbandry Department’s name has been changed and will now also be called the Cow Protection Department along with Animal Husbandry. Giving respect to cow-mother, welfare schemes will be run through this department. Grants are being given for cow rearing under the Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar Kamdhenu scheme. Farmers should make manure from cow dung; the government will give higher prices for grains produced from natural fertilizers. Currently, CNG gas is being produced through Gaushalas in Indore, Dewas, Rewa, and some other districts. Farmers are getting chemical-free natural and organic manure. The state government will provide 125 acres of land for opening large Gaushalas. Provisions for this have been made in the current budget. The scenario of cow rearing will change in the next three years. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that today 7 Gaushalas were awarded and Gau Sevaks were honored. These are from Bhopal, Damoh, Anuppur, Raisen, Chhindwara, Harda, and Vidisha districts. During the program, registration certificates were given to 73 Gaushalas.

State Government Committed to Respecting Cow-Mother

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that cows injured on roads will be taken to Gaushalas. Cow-mother sits on roads for relief because we have left her like this. In the rainy season, cows and other cattle come to sit on roads to protect themselves from mosquitoes and insects because the wind caused by passing vehicles gives them relief from suffering. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that Lord Krishna was dedicated to cows and other animals. Vrindavan villages will be established in every block of the state. Children will get cow milk, which will free them from malnutrition.

Those Who Have a Cow at Home Are Gopals

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said those who have a cow at home are Gopals. The Chief Minister’s residence has now become the residence of cow keepers. Wherever there is a cow-mother, there is heaven. Although birth is given by mother, the right to the first food belongs to the cow-mother. In Sanatan culture, the cow-mother holds an important place. Under the guidance of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, Madhya Pradesh is becoming prosperous through cow protection. The soul of India resides in villages. Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel actually had the Amul institution established in Gujarat, but we often give credit for Amul’s progress to others. Cow protection is a means that provides income.

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav handed over grants to Gaushala operators and presented the Acharya Shri Vidyasagar Jeevdaya Gaoseva Samman Award for 2023-24 to institutions that have done remarkable work in cow service and Gaushala operation.

Self-Reliant Gaushalas will be Created in MP: Animal Husbandry State Minister Mr. Patel

Animal Husbandry State Minister with independent charge, Shri Lakhan Patel said that under the leadership of Chief Minister Dr. Yadav, continuous cow protection and promotion work is being done in the state. The state celebrated Cow Protection Year from 9 April 2024 to 29 March 2025, during which cow protection and service activities were carried out throughout the state. The government has decided to create self-reliant Gaushalas in the state. Madhya Pradesh will be the first state in the country to do this. Thirty such places have been identified in the state where self-reliant Gaushalas with a capacity of 5,000 to 25,000 cattle will be established. These Gaushalas will be high-tech, with all modern facilities for cow care, including production of organic manure, CNG gas, and electricity generated through solar energy. The Animal Husbandry Minister said that animal husbandry holds a special place in doubling farmers’ income. To make Gaushalas self-reliant, breed improvement in animals is necessary. Several schemes are being run by the government for animal husbandry. The government has decided to give 25% grant for keeping 200 cattle under the Kamdhenu scheme. The state government is giving institutional and individual awards to encourage cow keepers in the field of cow service.

Senior MP Shri V.D. Sharma said that cow rearing and cow service are part of Chief Minister Dr. Yadav’s life. He has set a goal to make the state a leader in animal husbandry. This is a historic conference in this field in the state. The state government has signed an agreement with the National Dairy Development Board. The Kamdhenu scheme will give farmers an opportunity to start cow rearing and dairy. Cow rearing will strengthen not only the agricultural sector but the entire economy.

Sports and Cooperation Minister Shri Vishwas Sarang said that no act is more virtuous than serving cow-mother. Serving cow-mother helps cross the Vaitarani (a mythological river to cross after death). Attention must be paid to cow rearing and cow service for the prosperity of the state. The decision to send grant money to cow service workers with a single click is commendable.

At the state-level Gaushala conference held at the Chief Minister’s residence, MLA Shri Bhagwandas Sabnani, Bhopal Mayor Mrs. Malti Rai, Bhopal Municipal Corporation President Shri Kishan Suryavanshi, Additional Chief Secretary Shri Ashok Varnwal, Principal Secretary Shri Umakant Umrao, along with many representatives and cow keepers from across the state were present.
