Bhubaneswar: Odisha has provided nearly ₹200 crore in subsidies to more than 4.5 lakh dairy farmers under the Mukhyamantri Kamdhenu Yojana, Fisheries and Animal Resources Development Minister Gokulananda Mallik announced during National Milk Day celebrations.
Launched last year, the scheme aims to double Odisha’s milk production within five years. The minister noted that the state currently produces about 72 lakh litres of milk annually, and efforts are underway to significantly scale this output.

- The minister unveiled seven new OMFED products on the occasion.
- He also inaugurated a sex-sorted semen laboratory in Cuttack, aimed at boosting genetic advancement and productivity in the state’s dairy sector.
