Revised prices take effect from November 4, following KMF’s recent milk and curd price adjustments.
Consumers in Karnataka are facing another round of dairy price increases, with Nandini raising the prices of selected ghee, butter and paneer products from November 4. The revision follows the Karnataka Milk Federation’s (KMF) recent decision to increase milk and curd prices, adding to the cost of several essential dairy products.

The price of a one-litre Nandini ghee sachet has increased from ₹715 to ₹850, while a one-kg paneer pack now costs ₹485, compared with ₹408 earlier. The price of 500-gm unsalted butter has also risen from ₹285 to ₹390.
Revised Nandini ghee prices
According to a Bengaluru Milk Union circular, the revised prices cover multiple ghee pack sizes and packaging formats.
| Pack size / format | Revised price |
|---|---|
| Ghee sachet, 200 ml | ₹95 |
| Ghee sachet, 500 ml | ₹425 |
| Ghee PET jar, 50 ml | ₹65 |
| Ghee PET jar, 100 ml | ₹100 |
| Ghee PET jar, 200 ml | ₹180 |
| Ghee PET jar, 500 ml | ₹435 |
| Ghee PET jar, 1 litre | ₹870 |
| Ghee, 5-litre pack | ₹4,250 |
The difference between the one-litre sachet price of ₹850 and the one-litre PET jar price of ₹870 reflects the separate pricing of the two packaging formats.
Butter and paneer prices also increase
Nandini has revised prices across its salted and unsalted butter range, along with different paneer pack sizes.
| Product | Pack size | Revised price |
|---|---|---|
| Salted butter | 100 g | ₹90 |
| Salted butter | 500 g | ₹380 |
| Unsalted butter | 200 g | ₹160 |
| Unsalted butter | 500 g | ₹390 |
| Paneer | 200 g | ₹115 |
| Paneer | 500 g | ₹260 |
| Paneer | 1 kg | ₹485 |
| Medium-fat paneer | 200 g | ₹110 |
The one-kg paneer pack has increased from ₹408 to ₹485, while the 500-gm unsalted butter pack has risen from ₹285 to ₹390.
Amul also revises selected ghee and butter prices
The Nandini price revision comes shortly after Amul increased the prices of selected ghee and butter products.
According to the reported revised prices, a one-kg carton of Amul ghee now costs ₹680, compared with ₹640 earlier. Its 500-gm pure ghee pouch has increased from ₹325 to ₹345.
Amul cow ghee prices have also risen, with the 500-ml pouch increasing from ₹350 to ₹370 and the one-litre pouch from ₹695 to ₹735.
Butter prices have been revised as follows:
| Amul product | Earlier price | Revised price |
|---|---|---|
| Butter, 100 g | ₹63 | ₹66 |
| Butter, 500 g | ₹310 | ₹325 |
These revisions indicate price increases across selected branded dairy products, although the changes vary by brand, product category and packaging format.
KMF’s earlier milk and curd price revision
The latest Nandini product-price changes follow KMF’s decision to increase milk prices by ₹8 per litre and curd prices by ₹14 per litre, effective November 1.

Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar defended the milk-price increase, stating that it would benefit nearly 11 lakh farmer families.
He also said he had suggested a ₹2-per-litre reduction in curd prices and that KMF representatives had agreed to the proposal. According to Shivakumar, around 10 lakh litres of milk had started returning to the cooperative system following the price revision. He added that some stakeholders had demanded an increase of ₹12 per litre.
Rising dairy prices put consumer affordability in focus
The successive revisions across milk, curd, ghee, butter and paneer are likely to increase household expenditure on dairy products in Karnataka.
For dairy cooperatives, pricing decisions involve balancing procurement returns to farmers, processing and distribution costs, and consumer affordability. The latest revisions also highlight the importance of transparent communication about product-wise MRPs and the effective dates of price changes.
