VRS Foods Ltd, better known as Paras Dairy, is advancing into India’s rapidly growing cheese segment with a ₹100 crore investment in a new production facility in Maharashtra. This expansion supports its strategic rollout of Galacia Cheese across western and southern India.
Launched in early 2025, Galacia Cheese initially served institutional kitchens, quick service restaurants (QSRs), and the HORECA sector in North India. With demand rising, Paras Dairy is scaling operations to meet requirements from high-consumption regions such as Maharashtra, Karnataka, and Tamil Nadu.
The move is part of a broader vision to establish Paras Dairy as a major player in India’s value-added dairy segment. Galacia Cheese is also expected to make its retail debut within the next 6 to 8 months. Already a leader in categories like milk, buttermilk, paneer, and ghee, Paras aims to diversify its retail offerings and significantly increase its contribution from this segment.

According to dairy industry strategist Prashant Tripathi, this is a calculated and timely shift:
“India’s appetite for cheese is expanding, not only in QSRs but also in modern retail. With rising urbanization, global food influences, and stronger cold chain networks, there’s room for multiple new players. Paras Dairy’s expansion is well-placed to capture both institutional and consumer demand.”

As fast food culture rises and gourmet dining expands beyond metro cities, cheese is becoming a staple in Indian kitchens and commercial menus alike. Paras Dairy’s focused investment and supply chain expansion signal a strong bet on this trend.
Industry observers believe that Galacia Cheese could become a catalyst in reshaping India’s traditionally milk-focused dairy landscape into a more diversified, value-added structure.
