Guntur, March 20: In a welcome move for dairy farmers, Sangam Dairy has announced an increase in milk procurement prices, effective from the 21st of this month.
The decision is expected to boost farmer incomes across multiple districts in Andhra Pradesh.
Revised Procurement Prices
The updated rates vary by district:
Guntur District
- Buffalo milk: ₹840 per kg of butterfat
- Cow milk: ₹310 per litre
Godavari Districts
- Buffalo milk: ₹830
- Cow milk: ₹301
Nellore District
- Buffalo milk: ₹820
- Cow milk: ₹301
Prakasam District
- Buffalo milk: ₹840 (centres & dairy farms)
- Vendor points: ₹820
- Cow milk: ₹310
Leadership Statement
The announcement was made by Dairy Chairman and Ponnur MLA Dhulipalla Narendra Kumar along with Managing Director P. Gopalkrishnan. They stated that the revised pricing aims to provide better returns to farmers and encourage dairy production.

Meanwhile, Agriculture Minister Atchannaidu has issued an alert regarding possible untimely rains across the state over the next 3–4 days.
Regions likely to be affected include:
- Rayalaseema
- Coastal Andhra
- Uttarandhra
Farmers growing crops like banana, mango, chilli, and maize have been advised to:
- Move harvested produce to safe storage
- Avoid working in open fields during storms
- Secure agricultural machinery
- Take shelter during lightning and strong winds
The government has assured support and compensation for crop losses, urging officials to assess damages promptly.
