Lucknow, March 16: Exports of dairy and livestock-based products from Uttar Pradesh have recorded a steady rise of over 10 percent, reflecting the growing strength of the state’s agro-based economy.
According to official data, exports under the category of dairy products, eggs, natural honey, and other edible animal products increased from ₹444.10 crore (April 2023–November 2024) to ₹489.24 crore (April 2024–November 2025). This marks a growth of 10.16 percent, translating to an increase of nearly ₹45 crore.
Strong Demand and Infrastructure Push
Officials attribute this growth to rising international demand and significant improvements in processing and supply chain systems. Enhanced quality of products such as milk, ghee, paneer, butter, milk powder, honey, and eggs has strengthened the state’s competitiveness in global markets.
Expansion of dairy processing units, better packaging standards, and improved cold chain infrastructure have further supported export growth.
Government Initiatives Driving Growth
Under the leadership of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, the state government has implemented several initiatives aimed at boosting the livestock and dairy sector. These include:
- Promotion of modern dairy technologies
- Strengthening of cold storage and logistics
- Expansion of processing facilities
Boost to Farmers and Rural Economy
The growth in exports is also benefiting rural communities. Farmers are receiving support through improved cattle breeds, veterinary services, training programs, and financial assistance.
Additionally, dairy cooperative societies and private dairy units are being encouraged, leading to stronger milk collection and marketing networks at the grassroots level.

Experts believe that continued focus on quality improvement, branding, and global market access could significantly increase exports in the coming years.
