New Delhi: After petrol, diesel, and LPG, milk has now joined the list of essentials becoming costlier, with prices rising by up to ₹4 per litre across several cities like Indore, Ujjain, Dhar, Dewas, Bhopal, Jabalpur, and others.
What is the price in Indore?
Mathurawala stated, “In Indore, loose milk that was earlier sold at ₹60 per litre is now being sold at ₹63 per litre.” He added that price hikes in other cities have been implemented based on local conditions.
He further explained, “Due to the shortage of green fodder during the summer season and the rising cost of animal feed, we had to increase milk prices. Milk production capacity of cattle also decreases during summer.”
What About Big Dairy Brands?
As of now, there is no official update from major players like:
- Amul
- Mother Dairy
Both companies last revised their milk prices around May last year, and any future hike will depend on procurement and input costs.
Fuel & LPG Prices Add Pressure
In Bengaluru, Shell outlets have increased petrol prices by ₹7.41 per litre. The price of regular petrol is now ₹119.85, and premium power petrol costs ₹129.85 per litre. Diesel prices have seen an even sharper rise of ₹25.01 per litre, with regular diesel now at ₹123.52 and premium diesel at ₹133.52 per litre.

Previously, Shell had increased petrol prices by ₹2 to ₹2.50 per litre at some stations, bringing rates to ₹108.50, while diesel prices were raised to ₹93.50.
