The Bengaluru-based dairy brand introduces High Protein Dahi and lactose-free Coffee and Kesar Elaichi flavoured milk, expanding its range of functional dairy products across five major cities.
BENGALURU: Akshayakalpa Organic has expanded its high-protein dairy portfolio with the launch of High Protein Dahi and two flavoured milk variants, Coffee and Kesar Elaichi. The move strengthens the company’s presence in the growing functional dairy segment, combining protein-focused nutrition with familiar dairy products.

The new launches build on the company’s existing range of ultrafiltered plain milk and protein paneer. According to the supplied report, the flavoured milk variants are priced at ₹110 and are positioned as lactose-free, low-fat products without added sugar, artificial stabilisers or synthetic powders.
The products are being offered through the Akshayakalpa mobile application and its cold-chain distribution network in Bengaluru, Chennai, Hyderabad, Mumbai and Pune.
Focus on protein-rich, clean-label dairy
Akshayakalpa Organic founder and CEO Shashi Kumar highlighted the challenge consumers face in meeting their daily protein requirements consistently. The new products aim to make protein-rich dairy options more convenient for everyday consumption.
The launch reflects growing interest in functional foods, including dairy products that combine familiar formats with specific nutritional attributes. High-protein curd and flavoured milk offer alternatives for consumers looking to incorporate more protein into their daily diets.
The company is positioning its products around organic sourcing and simplified formulations, distinguishing them from conventional flavoured dairy products that may use added sugars, stabilisers or reconstituted ingredients.
Dairy processing technology supports protein concentration
Ultrafiltration is an important membrane-processing technology used in dairy manufacturing. It separates milk components according to molecular size, allowing water and some smaller dissolved components, including lactose, to pass through the membrane while retaining most milk proteins.
This enables manufacturers to increase protein concentration without relying exclusively on added protein powders. The final nutritional composition depends on the processing conditions, formulation and ingredients used.
For flavoured milk, manufacturers must also manage heat treatment, homogenisation and flavour incorporation to maintain product quality and stability. High-protein dahi requires controlled starter-culture activity, fermentation and refrigerated storage to achieve the desired texture and shelf life.
The exact processing methods used for Akshayakalpa Organic’s new products were not independently confirmed in the supplied report.
Competition intensifies in functional dairy
India’s functional dairy market has attracted growing attention from established cooperatives and emerging consumer brands. High-protein milk, paneer, curd and yoghurt products are expanding the range of options available to health-conscious consumers.

Akshayakalpa Organic differentiates its offering through its organic positioning alongside its focus on protein-rich products. Its direct-to-consumer app and refrigerated delivery network also provide a channel for reaching urban households seeking specialised dairy products.
Value addition and the organic dairy supply chain
Expanding into differentiated dairy products can help companies diversify beyond conventional liquid milk, where refrigerated transportation and frequent delivery requirements place pressure on operating costs.
Value-added products may offer opportunities to improve revenue per unit of milk processed, although actual profitability depends on ingredient costs, processing efficiency, packaging, distribution and consumer demand.
For organic dairy producers, maintaining certified production systems can involve additional requirements for feed, farm management and traceability. A commercially sustainable model therefore depends on balancing consumer demand for premium products with fair and dependable milk procurement arrangements for farmers.
With the addition of High Protein Dahi and two flavoured milk variants, Akshayakalpa Organic is extending its presence in the premium dairy segment while responding to consumer interest in protein-focused and clean-label products.
