Step-by-Step Counselling Process for ICAR AIEEA PG 2026
The ICAR AIEEA PG counselling process is conducted online through the designated ICAR counselling portal. Candidates should carefully follow the schedule and instructions issued for the 2026–27 admission cycle.
1. Register on ICAR Counselling Portal
Go to: ICAR Counselling 2026–27
Use your relevant:
- Application number
- Roll number
- Password/login credentials
The portal currently provides separate candidate-login functionality for the ICAR admission counselling process.

2. Pay the Counselling Registration Fee
Pay the prescribed non-refundable counselling registration fee (₹500) through the available online payment modes, such as debit card, credit card, net banking or UPI, as permitted by the portal.
After successful payment, save the payment receipt or transaction details for future reference.
3. Upload Required Documents
Upload clear, legible scanned copies of the documents specified in the counselling notification.
Candidates should ensure that:
- Documents are in the prescribed file format.
- File sizes are within the specified limits.
- Names, dates and other details are clearly visible.
- Category certificates and other applicable certificates meet the prescribed requirements.
Keep the original documents safely, as they will be required during subsequent verification and university reporting.
4. Fill and Lock Your Choices
Select your preferred Agricultural Universities, ICAR-Deemed Universities and eligible subjects/disciplines in order of preference.
Before submitting the choices, carefully check:
- University and institute
- Degree programme/subject
- Eligibility requirements
- Category-wise seat availability
- Your preferred order of choices
Candidates should include all valid choices that they would genuinely be willing to accept, rather than selecting choices randomly.
After reviewing the preference list, lock the choices before the deadline. If the counselling rules provide for automatic locking of saved choices after the deadline, the applicable 2026 instructions should be followed.
5. Check the Seat Allotment Result
ICAR publishes seat-allotment results according to the counselling schedule and applicable rounds.
Log in to the counselling portal after each allotment round to check:
- Allotted university/institute
- Allotted programme/subject
- Category
- Reporting or further-action requirements
- Deadline for the next step
6. Accept the Allotted Seat and Pay the Required Fee
If a seat is allotted, follow the instructions provided for that counselling round.
Depending on the applicable counselling rules, candidates may need to:
- Accept the allotted seat
- Pay the prescribed Seat Acceptance Fee ,In the previous ICAR counselling procedure, the mandatory Seat Acceptance Fee was ₹10,000, irrespective of category.
- Complete document verification
- Exercise the available option for subsequent counselling rounds, if applicable
Candidates should complete all required actions within the specified deadline. Failure to complete a mandatory step may result in cancellation of the allotted seat.
7. Download the Provisional Admission/Allotment Documents
After completing the required counselling formalities, download and save the applicable provisional admission/allotment letter and fee-payment receipts.
It is advisable to keep both digital and printed copies for university reporting.
8. Report to the Allotted University
Report to the allotted Agricultural University/institute within the prescribed reporting period.
Carry the required original documents along with photocopies, including educational certificates, category certificates where applicable, ICAR scorecard, admission/allotment documents, photographs and fee-payment receipts.
The university will conduct document verification and complete its admission formalities. Final admission is subject to fulfilment of the applicable eligibility conditions, document verification and payment of university/institutional fees.
